Goodbye Montgomery!

Its hard to believe we will be moving in less than one week. The movers will be here Thursday and we are starting the drive to Maryland on Saturday. It was no secret we were not thrilled to move to Montgomery, Alabama 2 years ago but looking back over our time here we can appreciate quite a few things. We will always remember it as the place where Hayden was born and we became parents. Eric enjoyed working as a flight surgeon and I enjoyed his Mon-Fri schedule and weekends off. I will definitely miss that! We were also very fortunate that Eric was never sent on a long deployment. The two 2 week deployments that he did go on were great experiences for him and much easier on me and Hayden. We were able to live close to Eric's family and it was great to spend so much time with them over the past two years. We have also made some great friends here that we will miss. Now we look forward to what the future holds in Maryland. Its hard to even think about being in one place for 6 years and we are so excited!

Girls Weekend in Raleigh

As an early Mother's Day and Anniversary gift Eric sent me to Raleigh for a girls weekend. It had been a while since I had seen my girls (Meredith and Jessi) and I was very excited to go Hayden free this time. Of course I missed him but it was so nice to have some me time. I flew in late Thursday night from Atlanta and stayed until Sunday morning. We had a great time catching up! I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband who knows when momma needs a break. :) Here is a pic of me and the girls.

Lake Martin

We recently took a trip to Lake Martin (about an hour from Montgomery) with a few of our local friends. Since we are moving soon we wanted to get together and do something fun before we left. We rented a cute cabin on the water and were able to rent a pontoon boat that Friday and go tubing. Hayden loved being on the water. Saturday we had severe storms all day so we were stuck in the cabin but had fun playing games and hanging out. The guys fit in some fishing both days and our friend Chad caught two nice sized fish. Here are a few pics from our weekend.....
