Lincoln's 2nd Birthday Party!

On November 16th we celebrated Lincoln turning the big 2!  We had family and a few friends over to our house for a Monster Bash.  I chose a monster themed party since Linc loves Henry Hugglemonster.  I had fun planning the party food and games and used many ideas found on Pinterest.  Lincoln was a little shy with all the focus on him but he had fun and enjoyed all the yummy party food.  Thank you to everyone who celebrated with us!  Here are some pics from our Monster Bash....

Toothless

Last Thursday night was a big night for Hayden when he lost his first tooth!  We had noticed it was loose a few weeks back and could even see his new tooth growing in behind.  Each night when brushing his teeth, Eric gave it a good pull.  The night he lost it, they were just sitting on the floor and Eric checked to see its status.  He gave it a good tug and the next thing we knew Hayden was trying to get the tooth from the back of his throat.  Luckily he did not swallow it and he was so excited that the tooth fair would be coming!  We talked him into putting the tooth in a bag on his bottom bunk so the tooth fairy could get to it easier.  Friday morning I heard him jump down from his bed and then a few seconds later came into my room to show me his $5.  We may have set the standard a little high but it was the only cash we had in the house last minute.  :)  Here are some pics I took just after he lost his tooth....

Lincoln's First Haircut

The Saturday after Halloween, Eric took the boys to the Columbia Mall to give me some time to prep for our Wine & Cheese party that evening.  We decided that morning that if the Cartoon Cuts was not too busy, we would finally get Lincoln's hair cut.  We loved his long hair with curls but it was starting to get a little too long and multiple times he was referred to as her or she, so I guess it was time to become a big boy.  :(  I wanted to be there but he definitely would have been screaming for mommy so it was better off I was not.  I instructed Eric to get as many pics as he could on his phone though.  He started off great sitting by himself on the booster seat.  He got a little upset about halfway through but he got through it.  When they got home I wanted to cry because the cut they gave him made him look more like a girl and was just not cute at all.  Luckily, Eric was able to fix it and make it look like a boy haircut should.  We will probably cut it at home from now on but at least we got a certificate and a bag of curls.  I miss seeing his hair bounce behind him as he runs but he is still pretty much the cutest kid I have ever seen.  No bias at all.  :)  Here are the pics that Eric got on his phone and one's I took once it was looking better.....

Halloween 2014

Halloween this year was lots of fun in the Vaillant house.  Hayden has wanted to be Darth Vader since last Halloween so we had plenty of time to prepare our family costumes.  We were invited to our friends Spooktacular costume party the Saturday before Halloween.  Eric was working so he was not able to join us but me and the boys had a great time dressing up and playing at the Wilds house.  That Sunday morning we had a family photo shoot and then headed to the market to pick out pumpkins for some carving that afternoon.  This was the first time Hayden had carved pumpkins and he thought it was pretty cool and even dug out the pumpkin guts with daddy.  Halloween day I dressed Linc in an old Superman costume to run errands with me and I thought he was pretty much the cutest thing ever.  Halloween night Eric was stuck at work so I headed out trick or treating with the boys.  I was surprised how well Lincoln did, going up to every door after Hayden and our neighbor friends.  He can't say trick or treat or thank you yet but he said BYE to everyone who gave him candy.  :)  Eric was able to get out for the last 30 minutes with the boys and finally sport his Storm Trooper costume.  Here are some pics from our Halloween week....
