Museum Fun

Instead of doing a party for Lincoln's 3rd birthday we planned some family fun day trips.  Eric had off the Friday before his birthday so we took Lincoln to Port Discovery Children's Museum in Baltimore.  We rarely have time alone with just Lincoln so it was fun to give him all our attention.  Our next museum trip was to the B & O Railroad Museum.  My parents came up to join us and we enjoyed seeing the special lego train display they had out that weekend only.  We took a train ride and even got to see Santa.  The Monday before Thanksgiving Eric had off so we took both boys to DC to visit the National Air & Space Museum and Natural History Museum.  It was a chilly day but the boys really enjoyed the Metro ride into the city, seeing the planes, dinosaurs, gems, bugs, etc.  Here are some pics from our museum adventures....

Lincoln's 3rd Birthday

Lincoln turned the big 3 on November 20th.  The day before we celebrated at his school with cupcakes for snack.  He was super cute when we were singing to him and even blew out his candle for the first time.  On his actual birthday we let him open some gifts from us and Eric's parents.  We decided not to have a big party this year.  Instead we planned some fun family day trips (see next post).  On Thanksgiving we headed down to my parents for the day.  My mom had a small cake for him and we were able to celebrate one more time with cousins and open some gifts.  He enjoyed all of his special birthday time and continues to say...."it my birtday."  Here are some pics from our celebrations....

Fall Sports 2015

This fall season Hayden played soccer and baseball with the Elkridge Youth Organization.  We had soccer practice and games on Saturdays and Baseball practice on Thursday nights and games on Sundays.  We are just finally wrapping up soccer since we had a few rain outs.  Baseball ended on November 1st.  We moved Hayden up to the Rookie league in baseball since he played so well in the Spring.  This was a new challenge for him with machine pitch.  He was on the younger side for the league and with that came some emotions but by the end of the season he was starting to get his anger and tears under control.  He really had his heart in it and found it tough to get an out at first or a strike out but I think he learned a lot this season about the game.  This was Hayden's first season playing soccer in a league.  They would practice as a team for the first 45 minutes each Saturday and then play 4 on 4 against another team for the last 45 minutes.  His buddy Landon was also on the team and they played best when they were together on the field.  It was really fun to watch him in both sports.  Here are some pics and videos from the season.....

Halloween 2015

Halloween this year was busy but lots of fun.  The weekend before, Eric started working on the pumpkin carving.  It was a cool Fall afternoon so he got the fire pit going while he set to work.  After dinner we let the boys do Smore's which was Lincoln's first time.  He wasn't sure at first but quickly realized how yummy they are.  The pumpkins turned out great and made it to Halloween night.

The Thursday before Halloween Eric volunteered to read to Hayden's class.  Eric planned to bring in a skeleton from work to go along with his skeleton story.  Hayden's teacher asked if he would read to all three 1st grades so Hayden thought that was extra awesome.  :)  Eric was able to stay and have lunch with Hayden after.  I was with Lincoln at his school the same morning taking photos since the kids could come in their costumes.  Everyone looked super cute and I had Lincoln wear the pirate costume Hayden had worn in the 2's class.

On Friday night our friends had their annual Halloween party where costumes are required.  We decided to go as Bat family.  Hayden was super excited about dressing up....Lincoln I may have tackled to the ground trying to get his costume on.  Once we got to the party everyone had a blast.  They had lots of games for the kids and we even had a dance party.  The best part was watching Hayden do the whip/nae nae.  We let the boys stay up extra late but it was totally worth it.

Halloween day, Hayden had a soccer game in the morning and we just hung out at home after until trick or treating time.  We met up with our neighbor friends a little before dark to start going door to door.  We all dressed up again and people kept trying to give me candy.  :)  I walked about half the neighborhood with the boys before coming back to give out candy.  Everyone had a great time and we are still working on all the treats!  Here are some pics from Halloween week....

Gaver Farm 2015

Last Friday Eric was able to get off work early so we decided to have a family fun day at Gaver Farm in Mount Airy, MD.  We have been there every year for the past 3 years and the boys really love all the activities they have.  It was a beautiful Fall day!  Here are some of my favorite pics from the day....
