Labor Day Weekend 2015

Eric's Father's Day gift back in June was an overnight trip to DC and tickets to a Nats/Braves game on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend.  My parents came up on Saturday to watch the boys and we headed for DC around noon.  We were able to check in to our hotel early and they gave us an awesome corner room with a great view of the stadium.  We could even see the National Monument in the distance too.  We walked around the Navy Yard area scoping out restaurants for lunch and settled on a place called Blue Jacket.  We sampled some of their brews and enjoyed lunch outside.  We walked around the area some more before heading back to the hotel to get ready for the game.  Outside Nats field they have an area called the BullPen where you can get drinks, play cornhole, and listen to a live band.  We hung out there for about an hour before going into the stadium.  We had seats in the outfield and enjoyed watching the game and walking around the stadium.  It was a fun and relaxing night!

The morning after the game we wanted to go to Eastern Market to shop.  That area has also changed a lot since we last went when we lived in the area many years ago.  We had a great brunch after shopping and then headed back home to the boys around noon.  They had fun hanging with Grammy & Pops for the night.  We are always very grateful for their help.

On Monday morning we decided to go to Matapeake Beach across the Bay Bridge for a little fun in the sun.  We had taken the kayaks there the weekend before and really liked the beach area so came back just to play on the beach.  It was a beautiful day.  The big boys played in the water while me and Linc played in the sand and hung out in the tent.  That night we went to our neighbors annual Labor Day cookout and the boys enjoyed playing with friends.

Here are some pics from the weekend and a video of Hayden and Daddy at the beach....
